Welcome to The Flare Fix.

Your emergency kit for when symptoms spike.

This Flare Fix Kit is your companion through the flare as it's happening - so you don't have to do it alone.

Here's how this works:

In a flare right now?

Skip everything and go straight to the SOS audios. That's what they're there for. You don't need to watch anything first. Just scroll down, pick the one that matches what you're feeling, and press play. I'll take it from there.

If you're here on a calmer day - start here:

  1. Watch the Intro Video first. It'll take about 15 minutes and gives you the framework behind everything else.
  2. Then watch the Brain Retrainer's Guide to Flares Masterclass. This training goes deeper into the three stages of a flare and the six-step framework for navigating them. It also explains the why behind the tools and steps used in the Guided Audios - and the more your brain understands why something works, the easier it is to actually access it when you need it most.

I know symptom flares can be scary and uncomfortable, but that is going to change now! Flares don't have to mean what they used to - they don't have to take you out for days or send you into that spiral of fear and not knowing what to do. There's actually another way through them, and you now have exactly what you need to find it. You're not doing this alone anymore! Next time a flare hits, just press play. I'll be right there with you.

XO, Katie

When a flare hits, your nervous system has typically shifted into one of two protective survival states. The first is the sympathetic state - also known as fight or flight. The second is the dorsal state - also known as freeze or shutdown. I like to think of these as the flavor of the flare you're experiencing. No matter what physical symptoms are present, there is a protective survival state energy running beneath them - like a current below the surface.

I've created two SOS audios, one for each flavor. Choose the one that best matches the energy underneath your symptoms right now - not the symptoms themselves, but the nervous system state.

The way to identify which state you're in isn't by examining your physical symptoms - it's by tuning into the quality of your thoughts and emotions. What does your inner monologue sound like right now? What emotional tone is present underneath the symptoms? That's what's going to tell you which flavor of flare you're in.

SOS Audio #1

Activated & Anxious

Reach for this one when you feel a sense of urgency and restlessness - as if your brain is saying, "I need to do something, and I need to do it now." In this state, there's anxiety or frustration under the surface, and part of you just wants to fix it or figure it out. Your thoughts may be spinning, catastrophizing, future-predicting, or worrying about what others think or feel. This audio will walk you through calming that activated energy and signaling safety back to your brain, step by step. Just press play.

SOS Audio #2

Fatigued & Foggy

Reach for this one when you feel a sense of heaviness and fogginess - as if your brain has just... shut down. In this state, you may feel exhausted, numb, or frozen, like you just can't. Your thoughts may sound like hopelessness or despair, a sense that this will never get better, or a quiet voice telling you that you've gone backwards. This audio will gently guide your nervous system out of that shutdown state and back toward safety, step by step. Just press play.
